Master’s Degree

About

According to the no. 1 of art. 18th of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, of March 24, in its current wording, the cycle of studies leading to a master’s degree has 90 to 120 credits and a normal duration comprised between three and four curricular semesters of student work.

The master’s degree is conferred in a specialty and, when necessary, the specialties can be divided into areas of specialization.

In polytechnic education, master’s degrees predominantly ensure the acquisition of a professional specialization, with a strong component of scientific training aimed at developing a critical view and acquiring professional skills, with greater autonomy, through research to be carried out.
